Word record 2

        Best images

In the image above the subject is looking straight on. This is what I wanted all images to be like with similar framing.

This image has been taken at an slight angle which is good to have a mix of facial features. Not only different people but slight differences in perspective.

The expression in this pictures is too funny to not include. This to me is what Hannah Hoch's work would look like in just one image, without adding cut outs of others work.

I thought that I maybe angle to use this image of the subject looking down by putting her hair on someone else.

This image of the subject looking away from the camera was taken when the she wasn't paying attention to my instruction of looking at the camera but I took a photo anyway. I'm happy I did so as this image is similar to the portraits used in Hoch's work.

Image that require improvement

This image isn't in focus and the lighting isn't quite bright enough to see her facial features clearly.

I    This was done when testing the lighting was correct, which it was and it was adjusted shorty after. If this was for a different shoot, maybe even for John Stezaker, then I would probably put this under the best images as it would contrast with the skeleton nicely. However I don't feel it works for this shoot as it requires clear, well lighted images to be able to cut out the facial features and to put them on another person.

The subjects hands are over her face so this can't be used for cutting out e.g her mouth. Although I may use her hands in an experiment.

·     AO1: Develop ideas through sustained investigations informed by research and other   sources.

This shoot is based on the work of Hannah Hoch which I have tried to replicate before. For this shoot I will be mixed different people facial features with each other. I have taken photos of people closer up then last time, like I said I would, in order for the images to not be blurry when I boom in on them. I have also taken pictures of some more people, more to work with so more ideas should be produced. I will also try to incorporate the skeleton.

      AO2:

Camera settings
The first 5 images have the settings F-stop: 11, shutter speed: 0.4 and ISO:100. All images after the non- close ups and among a light background are F-stop: 5.6, shutter speed: 1/125 and ISO:100. All images that are close ups in-between and among a darker background settings are F-stop: 11, shutter speed: 1/125 and ISO:100.

      Photoshop

I     I first placed the two images I want to use onto photoshop. I then used the quick selection tool to select part of the skeletons skull. Then I use Command and C to copy what I have selected.

After coping the selected section of the image, I then used Command and V to paste it onto the over image. I also used Command and T to move and adjust the selected section.

AO3:
I believe this is my most successful attempt at incorporating Hannah Hoch's work into my own. I did this by adding parts of the skeleton at times, e.g. the jaw of the skeleton on a subjects face. I think the images that work the best are the ones were I have mixed chunks of peoples face together, appose to just an eye or mouth. Although the one with the crossed eyes is good and I only had to add the eyes and teeth.  I did make the mistake of not incorporating random objects, e.g. toothbrush or pen, in my work as Hoch's dose this at times.
